STEP-BY-STEP DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY

Through Cieslewicz’s biography and his pieces of work (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Cie%C5%9Blewicz), introduce the students to the Pop Art movement, constructivism and surrealism.

The student will have to create a poster on the theme of cultural diversity in our society. It will be a personal and visual interpretation of society, following the example of the artist Cieslewicz. They can use magazines and Internet to collect pictures of objects, architecture, landscapes, colours, textures, patterns, characters etc. that represent the same theme. Students will cut the images in square or rectangular to make a poster in an orthogonal shape. (see: appendix)

In groups, ask the students to comment their choices of pictures and shapes to represent diversity in your society. What are the cultural values that are underlined in their posters? Are their common values in the different posters?
